The will to do something is a determination to do it; in the legal sense, a will determines what happens when you are gone. How many of us have taken the time to make this determination? It’s sort of like flossing your teeth – we all know that having a will and an advance healthcare directive is something we should do… but all too often it just keeps getting pushed to the bottom of our already lengthy “to do” list.
Many of today’s non-paid senior caregivers are Boomers and Generation X’ers – the 40 – 60 year old crowd. We are the generation raised to believe, men and women alike, that we can do it all. To us, “all” means having great careers, loving relationships, families, large houses, long vacations, etc.
Holidays can be fun, joyous occasions, with family members gathering from near and far. Sometimes, the holidays are the only time of year we get to see family members who travel long distances to join in a family holiday celebration. Holiday Blues: Mom isn’t quite what she used to be.
